A hardware hacker by the name of dooklink is working on improving the GBS 8200/8220 scalers to improve their picture quality and delays. So far, he has accomplished this by simply bypassing the processor and the programming embedded on the board, then driving the scaler with a Raspberry Pi. So far he has some impressive results, and he’s currently working on making his code compatible with the built-in CPU for our everyday folks. Want to follow his project or try to get it working with a Raspberry Pi yourself? Head on to the forum and read all about it!
